Rebuilding Lives - Sri Lanka - North

9.45 pm, Thursday 11th March 2010...7 of us, in front of the Fort Railway station in Colombo...

Head A, She Ru, Sad P, CheeSa, Hun J and ofcourse myself were the 7...

5.20 am - Vavuniya Railway station.. The van with our bags had arrived 2 hours before we arrived... our boys were out of the norm, grumbling that we just could have come in the Van and the Girls, the adventure seekers were happy about the whole Journey.

6.00 am - All set to begin our Data collection journey,  we had tea and a yummy chilli flaked Malu bun at a road side shop, and stared a hour an a half drive through newly done A9 road to Mangkulam. Mangkulam STF camp was our first stop.. From there we headed to some preschools starting from Palinagar. Visited a few Preschools that day and visited a few villages like Nachikuda and Thevenpity, Pudukulam. Not a single Cat to be seen, there were very few Dogs along the road side all just Dusty Dry sandy roads, leading to small villages.

Journey was tiring, but I should not forget to mention Gods extended hand was on us to Strengthen and guide us through out...even while traveling in the van... the conversations we had about heaven and earth and what has been our vision/ dreams etc and the little mind games we played just bonded the team together. We all just wished we had our phones charged that time to record all these, phones were all totally dead.. I guess it was all under God's Plan to discuss and to make us forget..

Day 2 we visited many more villages, the needs were many from very basic needs alot to be developed, from Education to livelihood, water and nutritious food needs. Everything needs to be planned and looked after. 7 of us are burdened, this trip was our first step on making a better Sri Lanka... So much to do and many trips to make... all will be blogged in detail..

Until I meet you on my next blog with more details on rebuilding lives North..
